Throughout high school, from my freshman year onward, I have had the privilege of studying the organ under Dr. Filippa Duke. These years have been filled with expert lessons that both taught and deepened my organ playing while also improving my general musicianship. I initially encountered her as my teacher when I served as Edenton Street UMC’s organ scholar. I came from a purely piano background prior to this. Through her teachings, I have learned the organ from the ground up and am no longer the Organ Scholar but the Organist. It has been an immense journey, made possible only by Dr. Duke's great teachings and mastery.

Hi! I’m Filippa, an organist, choral conductor, and educator in the Raleigh/Durham area.
My private studio is a supportive space for piano, organ, and conducting students of all ages: preschool-adult. I provide tailored musical guidance for students to achieve their musical goals- whether it’s learning a new skill, reengaging with a former one, or preparing for an upcoming performance!

I’ve taught all ages and levels, from preschool Musikgarten to graduate students at the university level, but in particular, I especially love to work with:
Middle and high school organ students
including preparing for performances, church services, and auditions (if that is a goal)
Adult organ students
Beginning to advanced children and youth piano students
Kindergarten (second semester) is a great time to begin!
